Maison Ikkoku

synopsis

Long-running 96 episode TV serial involving a would-be student (Godai Yusaku), and the beautiful kanrinin-san of Ikkoku-kan, Otonashi Kyoko. Based on a manga series by the very prolific Takahashi Rumiko. In typical Takahashi style, the romance between Yusaku and Kyoko is long-developing and wraught with diversions of every sort -- from other romantic interests (the dashing Mitaka, the tennis pro, and the "cute" Kozue), as well as the constant meddling of Ikkoku-kan's residents: Ichinose, Yotsuya and Akemi. There's a final movie, and a live-action movie as well.

Distributed in North America by Viz Video
