Video Girl Ai

synopsis

Video Girl Ai is a six-part OAV series (based on a manga series by Masakazu Katsura) involving a high-school boy named Moteuchi Yota, his best friend Niima Takashi and fellow school-mate Hayakawa Moemi. Yota is in love with Moemi, but can't seem to bring himself to tell her. Moemi is in love with Takeshi, but Takeshi is far too concerned with his best friend's feelings for Moemi to allow himself to explore a relationship with her. To make things worse, a failed attempt at getting Moemi hooked up with Yota forces Takeshi to rebuff the young lady, and suddenly all three friends are down in the dumps. Just when things couldn't possibly get any more complicated, enter a young girl -- video girl Amano Ai -- a magical construct from a "lonely adult's" video that Yota had rented. Ai sets out to make Yota happy, at whatever the cost. But this Video Girl's a little faulty, and she finds herself developing feelings for her charge.
