Bryan is a college professor and author who lives with his family in Earlysville, Virginia, an exurb of Charlottesville. He was introduced to anime by his kids, Julia (15) and Michael (11), who got hooked on the Cartoon Network broadcast of Gatchaman (known in the U.S. as G-Force).

Bryan is the original creator of A Parent's Guide to Anime.
