Outlaw Star (unedited)

A Parent's Guide to Anime
Rated: M

Recommended for Mature Audiences

Reviewed by Steven Anteau:

I am reviewing all 26 episodes fansubbed so I am reviewing the uncut episodes.

If you liked Cowboy Bebop you'll like this. It follows 5 futuristic bounty hunters, each with there own backstory. They go on their way to find the "Galactic Leyline" each for a different reason but do jobs in the meantime. A very fun series, not as good as Bebop but worth a look.

Parent's Guide Rating:

red (recommended for mature audiences)

Sex/nudity - Sex/nudity is an episode by episode deal. In the first it is implied Gene has sex with a hooker, Gene grabs various girls' butts and comments on their breasts. One character wears a very revealing suit and another is nude in a tank alot although he is covered. In one episode there are many females who show a lot of cleavage. Finally one character is obviously gay. He shows great affection towards Gene, uses a female voice, and the man's guards even tell Gene he loves him. Finally in one episode they are in a hot spring and the females spend the majority of the episode nude.

Violence - In the first episode there is a lot of blood as Gene kills a cyborg. Through the series many people die due to gunshots but very few are shown. There's one episode where a child dies however

Language - In the fansub there is swearing in every episode. It's usually "bastard" and "damn" but every now and than they whip out the f word.

Questionable episodes - In one a child is a hired assasin and dies in the end.
