Jubei-chan - The Lovely Eyepatch
Just before Bantaro confronts Shiro after school, we see something fly through the air. What was it and what does it mean?
A "geta" or traditional Japanese footwear flies through the air. It landed upside down which predicts that it will rain (sure enough there's a major rainstorm at the end of episode 3).
Kicking one's getta into the air and seeing how it lands is an old children's game to predict the weather. Upright means that it will be sunny, upside down predicts rain, while landing on the side predicts snow.
