Café Trivia

RG Veda

question:

What is the significance of the title of this series?

answer:

The title is actually pronounced rig veda, and is based on a series of sacred Vedic literature of India (the most important consisting of the Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Atharva Veda). The Rig Veda translates to "Book of Knowledge," and is composed of over 1000 hymns. The work itself dates back to before 1000 B.C. Individuals in the anime series mentioned in the books include Ashura, Taishakuten and Shurato (Ashura's sword).
