doujinshi

  1. Amateur or more precisely, non-professional publications. Doujinshi manga, while often written by non-professionally published artists using well-known fictional story universes, also includes side stories written by professionals for their fan-club. Often more sexually explicit than regular publications, they can also include gags on an artist's own stories.
