Tenchi Muyo!

(No Need For Tenchi!)

synopsis

Tenchi Muyo! was one of the most popular TV anime series in Japan in 1995. Originally released as an OAV series, it has since spawned two TV series, a second OAV series, several music videos, video specials and three feature-length movies. The TV and OAV series are slightly different, primarily in the manner in which the characters are brought together. The show primarily deals with Masaki Tenchi, who unexpectedly gets involved with a space pirate (Ryoko), the royal heir to the Jurai family (Princess Ayeka), Ayeka's sister (Sasami), a bumbling detective from the Galaxy Police (Mihoshi), her very capable partner (Kiyone, who does not appear in the OAV's), a mad scientist (Washu), and his father (Nobuyuki) and grandfather (Katsuhito). And of course, there's Ryoko's ship and fuzzy cabbit, Ryo-Ohki, and her male counterpart, Ken-Ohki.

This series is available from Pioneer LDC, Inc. in both VHS and LD formats.
