[ plot summary ]

After having confronted 2 wayward Shinma, Miyu, Reiha and (the doll Shinma) discover that the 2 wayward Shinma are suffering from sort sort of spell used by the Western Shinma from which Larva originated. Deciding that letting Larva go on his own was a big mistake, Miyu decides to go in search of her servant and friend Larva. Who are these Western Shinma who've come to Japan, and why are they here? And what vengeance is Gaaline planning against Miyu in retribution of enslaving his friend Larva?

[ capsule review ]

Again, there's a decidedly watered feeling to this series partly due to the wanted effect of having everything rather melancholic in tone. However, it often comes across as monotone and boring rather than melancholic. Again the story here was better than average and there was more inflecion in the voice acting but all in all it tends to fall flat. The use of flashbacks to Larva's and Miyu's meeting makes for added interest in the overall story and certainly adds to the viewers interest in the series in general. More than anything though, we really start wondering when the showdown between Reiha and Miyu will come and how long Miyu will allow Reiha to continue with her meddling. Then again, can she do anything against the frosty one?
