Bubblegum Crisis

Bubblegum Crisis is a landmark 8 episode, 1987-91 OAV series which many consider to be the definitive work of the cyberpunk genre. Series features character designs by Sonoda Kenichi and a driving, hard-rock soundtrack. Plot centers around a group of four mercenaries in hardsuits battling against Boomers (armed mecha) manufactured by the evil Genom Corporation. Related series include Bubblegum Crash, a 3 episode sequel, and AD Police Files, a dark 3 episode prequel. A new TV series, Bubblegum Crisis 2040, independent of the first OAV series, has also been released.

OAV series produced in North America by AnimEigo, Inc., and the TV series is released by A.D. Vision.
